This case study centres on our customer’s strategic approach to mitigating the high wear rates and associated replacement costs of Ground Engaging Tools (G.E.T.) at a large scale iron ore mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The challenging conditions in this large-scale mine significantly degraded these tools, compelling our customer to scout for cost-efficient alternatives without compromising on quality and performance. As a solution, our customer initiated a trial with Mining Wear Parts (MWP) intending to appraise the efficacy of their grader blades, potentially bringing about substantial cost savings, enhanced supply chain control, and reduced third-party dependencies. Furthermore, this collaboration unveiled prospects of creating custom solutions specific to our customer’s project needs, unavailable with existing suppliers.
