Gravel and Slurry Pumps

What gravel or slurry pump do I need?

Our team will address all factors before recommending an appropriate aftermarket pump. There are many factors to consider when selecting the right pump for your application such as fluid type, flow rate, viscosity, discharge, suction pipes and power. Whether it be slurry transfer, dewatering or acid and chemical dosing, our experienced team can recommend and supply the right pump and parts for your process.

Our innovative aftermarket gravel and slurry pumps and parts provide a reliable solution for your processing plant. Our aftermarket pumps have exceptional build quality, are energy efficient and easy to maintain.

Our aftermarket replacement pump parts are designed to offer high performance along with reliability at very cost-effective replacement rates.

Innovation

Our aftermarket pumps and parts have been reengineered to remove known industry complaints such as flow instability, cavitation, and seal failure. Our aftermarket pumps and parts are built to last and withstand the varying materials they are processing and the environments in which they operate.

Materials & Sizes

Our innovative aftermarket pumps and parts use the latest wear materials such as rubber, high white iron chrome and ceramic. These materials are used to deliver solutions that are suited to even the harshest pumping environments. Depending on the fluids that pass through the pump, Mining Wear Parts can supply the following sizes and materials:

  • Metal Pumps from 1.2″x1″ to 18″x16″
  • Rubber from 1.5″x1″ to 20″x18″
  • Gravel Pumps from 6″x4″ to 36″x36″

We can supply pumps with or without motors depending on your requirements.

Pump styles

Throughout the mining process there are a variety of different pumps used for differing fluids and slurries. Pumps can be categorised into three types, positive-displacement, centrifugal and axial-flow pumps. When choosing a pump for your application, our team look at your requirements and fluids/slurry that will be processed to make the correct recommendation for a long-lasting pump.

Centrifugal pumps

Centrifugal slurry pumps are the most common pumps used in high-volume mining applications such as slurry pumping and dredging. Centrifugal pumps convert kinetic energy through the use of the impeller to create rotational kinetic energy from the hydrodynamic energy provided. Common centrifugal pumps in the industry are vertical tank pumps, slurry pumps and multistage centrifugal pumps.

For applications like Dredging, our larger displacement pump parts are well suited to the dredging operations around Australia. Where the dredge is used to mine sands and silts along with large volumes of water and pump to a fixed plant for treatment and separation.

EXPERIENCED TEAM

Our team have the experience to support customers with the correct selection of aftermarket pumps for their specific application. With so many variables and fluids that pass-through pumps in the mining and aggregates industry, we understand the importance of the correct size and material to maximise the life of the customers equipment.

Our knowledge is integrated with our unyielding commitment to quality and reliability awarding our customers consistent pump performance, reducing operating costs by maximising production. Maximising production comes from our experienced team’s ability to recommend the appropriate wear material and pump sizes for the individuals application.

FAQ

How long should a slurry pump last?

The longevity of a slurry pump and its linings will depend on the abrasiveness of the material it is pumping and the materials used in the construction of the equipment. A pump that is constructed of linings well-suited to the material it is pumping can last very well.

What causes an impeller to fail prematurely?

If your impeller is failing prematurely, it could be because the material used in the impeller is not suited to the abrasiveness of the material in the slurry.

How many types of pumps are there?

Pumps can be categorised into three types: positive-displacement, centrifugal and axial-flow pumps.

Can noise impact the efficiency of my pump?

Yes, excessive noise creates vibrations that can impact the effectiveness of your equipment.
